Sobriquet @ Dream

Wasn't really in the mood to go out Friday. Had been mainlineing Buffy DVDs for the last few days, which may explain why.

(I will now maintain that The Body is a better episode than Hush. Not as pleasureable. But rivetting, unforgettable, and scapel-to-the-heart emotional. Except for that extraneous vampire towards the end.)

Had my arm twisted, went to Dream. There were a couple of forgettable nu-metal bands. Sobriquet started very late. They're a good band, but they fought a crap PA and lost. Too quiet, too muddy, too much noise. The crowd lost interest and wandered away. A pity.

Today we (being [livejournal.com profile] andricongirl and I) went to the Heartlands record sale. Bought Covenant - Dreams of the Cryotank, Recoil - Bloodline, and some Ant-Zen compilation. A* bought the new Creatures album, Hai!

Also bought Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's childrens book, The Wolves In The Walls. I'll be honest- McKean's art is always a pleasure, but Gaiman doesn't quite get the tone right.

I must leave you all now, gentle readers. The girlfriend wants to kick my arse at Scrabble.
