Dandelion Wine at the Rob Roy

Before the all the excitement and midnight flooding, A* and I went to see Dandelion Wine at the Rob Roy, plus support acts.

Colditz Glider: We've seen these guys before. Instrumental band. Jazz students that have been listening to way too much At the Drive In. Technically impressive, if a little ragged.

Sabot: American band. More instrumentals. But with just a bass, drums, and some thrashy math-rock. The crowd loved them. I wasn't quite in the mood, and found the abundance of different time signatures meant it all ended up sounding the same.

Dandelion Wine: Swirly goth music. With dulcimers. I really like this band.Really, really like. Even if they were a bit tired, and the sound mixing was a little off.

Nice surprise of the evening was seeing David from Tankt there, with other assorted friends.

(Well, it was nice for us. You, dear reader, are probably yawning and demanding more funny flooding anecdotes.)

colditz need to chill out .. they sound way to clean, more fuzz and a bit of nastyness in the sound would be much better.. you can tell thier trained as jazz musos, its all just right

also, i have yer boof discs to return, and i’ll add to the bundle a crap-ton of eva.

Dandelion Wine are very cool. They have a CD and 2 EPs, I think. That I can lend you.

Although you should come and see them next time they play and buy the CDs at the gig, because a) they're cheap and b) you get to chat to the cute red-head singer.


Still haven't watched the last DVDs you lent me. It's been a busy week. I blame rock n' roll.

well, if you wouldn’t mind lending me their cds, that’d be ace!
if i like em, i’ll make it my mission to attend a gig and buy the disks for myself; i’m all about supporting artists that i like, as in, in a rent and groceries kinda way.

hell, i felt devastated when they found james hetfield starved and emaciated due to mp3 downloads..
