Do I do my SSI Advanced Open Water in Melbourne, which would qualify me to dive wrecks? Or do I go diving with whalesharks in Ningaloo?

The wrecks aren't going nowhere, but the whalesharks might. You should do Ningaloo.

On the other hand, can't you do both?
I know there's at least one dive wreck off the WA coast at Albany, and I'm sure there's one at Geraldton which, given its proximity to Ningaloo might give you the best of both worlds

It's a question of money.

Although, pointing out that there are wrecks to dive in WA is actually an argument to do Ningaloo next year. I'd have more experience, which means I'd be allowed to explore more of the wrecks.

They'll be there in 2011 -- probably.

Cold water and homework beats giant whalesharks? Hmm...

...homework beats giant whalesharks?

I'm sure it does. Whalesharks would totally suck at homework, I bet. *sage nodding*
