Abyss rocked.

I mean, you don't go there to hear new and challenging music. You go to dance yourself stupid to the big club hits. Which is what I did. Plus there were good friends, and beautiful women, and several who were both.

The 9th birthday team-up with the old Oxide crew was a Damn Fine Idea. Got to jump around to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. And Nirvana. And some dumb punk cover of "The Summer of 69".

The only downside to the evening: my lower back is fux0r3d.

I blame the training course last week. Humans are not design to sit behind a desk for 8 hours a day.

Saturday...
We slept late, then meandered into the city for Free Comic Book Day. I bought Adrian Tomine's Scrapbook (slice of life minicomics, big inspiration for Death By Music), while [livejournal.com profile] andricongirl rifled through the free comics box.

Then we went down to Missing Link. I bought Minor Threat Complete Discography and the new Bad Religion CD, The Empire Strikes First. A* bought a Wire box set.

We were served by a bored blonde girl wearing a Ralph Lauren t-shirt. It was just wrong.

Saturday Night
Party at [livejournal.com profile] morgan303 and [livejournal.com profile] reinzero's house. Reinzero showed us his scorpions (they glow under UV), morgan303 let us handle her snake (very friendly, very cute), and the evening ended with a potted history of Melbourne's gothic basketball team.

Great party. Thanks guys.

Sunday
Slept in. Did back exercises. Played guitar.

And later we went for a walk across the Yarra, past all the giant, turreted mansions on the hill. Evening was settling down around them, and they looked like buildings from a dream.
