Sep. 16th, 2003 02:46 pmHome sick.
Started feeling giddy at work last night. Less dizzy now, more sore throat and headache. Seems to be dying down though. Debating whether or not to keep my doctor's appointment this afternoon, and thus fork over $40 to be told "You've got a virus. Get some rest."
We'll see.
Increasingly tempted to buy a new computer roleplaying game and just lose myself for a while. Either Morrowind, or Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, when it comes out for PC.
Pros:
- It's fun
Cons:
- It's anti-social
- I should be doing something productive with my time.
And thankyou to all who wished me a happy birthday.
I grow old, I grow old
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled.
Except my trousers are blue Levi's. and I'm going more for that emo-rocker vibe than the whole depressed-American-bank-clerk-turned-depressed-English poet thing.

Date: 2003-09-17 06:57 am (UTC)I Love Morrowind. It's an open-ended adventure that allows you to make ethical decisions and stand by them, have non-plot-related adventures, carve out a niche for yourself in a fairly complex society, wander through very very beautiful landscapes with weather and sunsets and everything, and meet a whole bunch of races, all with their own politics and social rules and stuff. It's awesome. And the actual *plot's* a heap of fun, too. And the expansions - also fun. And the music's good. And the fighting's fun. And the monsters are *really cool*. Do it!
If you don't want to fork over $50, I can bring this disc I have into your work, and you can...you know...
Arrr,me hearties, and all that. Then you can spend your money on Morrowind expansions instead. And download the user-made mods, and stuff. God, I love Morrowind.
It might eat your life a little bit though. But not too much. If you're very strong.
BTW: Tried to bring in The Pillows for

Date: 2003-09-17 07:07 pm (UTC)Star Wars is tempting just because, well... Droids. Jedi knights. Lightsabers. Stuff like that.
Although it's from BioWare, who made Neverwinter Nights. True, NWN pleasantly ate my life. But the characterisation was bit weak, the plot was patchy, and the ending so abrupt it was insulting.
So. Maybe I'll look into Morrowind.
(And while I appreciate your offer of, you know, the business with the parrots, I'm actually happy to buy my own copy.)
As for the Pillows: I'll be on holiday for the next two weeks. We'll organise it after I get back.
