Right. I've organised four weeks off over the December-January period, with the intention of doing a NaNoWriMo-style writing binge. Only it's better, because all you nano participants need a cheap competition to get you motivated, whereas I'm doing this entirely off my own drive.

Or something. Watch me spend the whole break procrastinating.

Speaking of... finished off the season 4 Buffy DVDs last night. The season had its good points, but it just lacked the magic that 2 and 3 had. Which I blame squarely on Whedon splitting his time between B. and Angel. Does this mean the next Angel season will rock?

Also: thinking of shaving my head. Completely. Grant Morrison style. (Only without the drugs).

I hate male-pattern baldness. To think I used to have a shoegazer mop.

shave your head, you won't be able to dye your hair interesting colours.

I guess you could always just paint with Henna...?

We're about 1/2 way through season 4 Buffy. I think I need to watch Angel again though... but you're right, the whole initiative thing is ... weird!

In my preference, season 4 buffy was the best. I felt it matured but still kept the things I was after from the previous season. It had it's strongest magic for me for seasons 3 and 4. As for Angel, season 3 is my favourite though it's magic is worked well in season 2 and 3.

I hope Whedon can improve on season 4 Angel for the next season. For the most part, it just didn't work for me. Fingers crossed.

Season 4 definately had its treasures - "Hush" and "Restless" come to mind. But face it- after the Master, Angelus, and the Mayor, Adam makes a pretty bland Big Bad.

S4 also began the long, slow process of cutting off Spike's balls. Which would be okay, if only he got them back in S7.

Oh, I dunno... one of my all time faves is the ole

I may be love's bitch but at least I'm man enough to know it.

I love Spike. His character, that is, not James Marsters. He is tanned and has a Valley-speak accent. ::shudder::

And Anthony Stewart Head is a lot more Cockney than Giles.

While the Mayor was the coolest Big Bad, personality wise, Adam had this harsh efficiency and cold intelligence that really appealed to me. He was just creepy and scary. There was this moment at the end of Season 4 where Buffy is fighting Adam for the last time. I was completely on the edge of my seat with tension as the action unfolded. I don't think any other TV show has ever done that for me.

I thought what happened to Spike was the funniest thing! I was never a really big gushing Spike fan as most Buffy geeks I know, so I didn't mind so much. I do sometimes wish he got his balls back, as you said by, the end of S7.
