From today's Age:
Businessman Andrew Landeryou and two former presidents of the failed Melbourne University Student Union have been temporarily barred from going within 50 metres of the union's liquidator after a series of incidents that culminated in a scuffle at the university on Friday.
Liquidator Dean McVeigh, of Foremans Business Advisers, was not involved in the fracas when Mr Landeryou, and former presidents Ben Cass and Darren Ray entered the student union building and took photos and videos of union executives.
...
The magistrate was handed a copy of an email sent on May 27 by Mr Ray to Nick Fletcher, a solicitor acting for Mr McVeigh. Ms Goldsbrough said she shared Mr McVeigh's disbelief at the "infantile way of threatening Mr Fletcher".
Infantile is exactly the word for it.

Date: 2005-06-08 02:57 am (UTC)Hah Indeed
Date: 2005-06-08 08:06 am (UTC)Even in his application for the order he says he is an "imposing physical presence". Indeed.
The whole basis of his claim is that I was stalking him. The last time I saw him was after a Supreme Court hearing two weeks ago, that he had summoned me to attend. If I'm a stalker, I'm not a very diligent one. I have no desire to ever see McVeigh again, he has abused the Liquidation process for personal profit. He again is abusing the legal process to smear my name. Is McVeigh afraid for his "safety", which is the test required for an order, even in his own statement he says he's not. Is McVeigh very afraid of being publicly held to account for his actions of Liquidator? You bet he is. And I will continue to tell the whole story on this and other intriguing stories on the Other Cheek, my blog of freedom at http://andrewlanderyou.blogspot.com Hope you pop in for a visit some time.

Re: Hah Indeed
Date: 2005-06-08 05:39 pm (UTC)Much as the shit-sheets accusing Graham Cornish of being wife-beater didn't change Cass and Ray's electoral rigging, dodgy finacial deals and political thuggery.
It's the same tired tactic over and over again - showering your enemies with shit.
And that, my friend, is what I mean by infantile.
Re: Hah Indeed
Date: 2005-06-08 06:31 pm (UTC)I'd be interested in your view once you see it. I've just figured out - I think! - a way of putting the video file online on Yahoo Groups so if you're interested stand by for that.
As a life-long victim of shit-sheets I despise them and despise the cowardice of those who distribute such material. Ask anyone who knows me about my views on that subject. My blog has my opinions (which of course not everyone is going to agree with) but I stand by every comment. There have been people put all sorts of disgusting material "anonymously" on the blog about many people including members of my family and indeed about Graham Cornish and I regard it all as equally horrific. I tend not to delete the nasty comments about me as they clearly reflect on the nasty author and not on me.
So I really find it quite wrong for you, someone I don't know and whose identity is undisclosed (I think) for you to equate the news reporting and public affairs commentary on my blog with disgusting material like that. Unlike those hiding behind a cloak of anonymity my views and opinions and news are put forward under my name every day for people to judge, accept or reject and criticise.
I don't see anything infantile about that, what I see as incredibly infantile is declaring "Hah" in response to Dean McVeigh's latest publicity stunt (which MUSU student members and public monies are paying for I should remind you). I encourage you to read the actual intervention order to see how spurious his claims are.
To get McVeigh's intervention order, click here to enter Yahoo Groups to pick it up. (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/theothercheek/)
Anyway, I appreciate your willingness to discuss the issue and look forward to future discussions of a non-infantile nature.
Game on.
Andrew
