Put in an application for leave today. Two weeks, starting from the day after the Dresden Dolls concert.

No idea exactly what I'll be doing on this leave. I just really need a holiday.

Three weeks is a bit short notice to get a passport for New Zealand, isn't it?

Maybe Queensland. Tropical rainforests sound pretty good about now.

I don't remember how long it took exactly, but I was surprised by how little fuss there was when I got my passport. Three weeks may be enough, if you get onto it quick. Of course with recent terrorism nonsense things may have changed.

I suspect the problem may not be with the getting of the passport, but the booking of the fares. You can't do *that* until you have a passport...

I think a holiday would be a good idea, but I'm not sure about the suitability of tropical rainforests for a man of your height. A dropbear may mistake you for a very fine tree, and nest in you. You are quite a tall man.
