i thought it was rad! sure, a new gen-y take on star trek to a point, but the diversion from the original series was well thought out, so there CANT be any clashes, and the characterisations were great. chris pine was FANTASTIC as kirk, exactly because he was ALWAYS smug in the series/films. but all the new cast brought a new take on the characters, which I enjoyed. I think McCoy and Scotty were awesome. Good point about Spock being stuck 14kms from the base. Guess you could say that maybe he felt it wasnt safe to go by himself? Who knows.
I can't wait to see it again! Just watched an original series episode, Zachary Quinto really did nail the young spock. But Spock always WAS sexy, ireckon that while Kirk had all the machismo, Spock got all the ladies anyways. You should see the original series smirks Spock dishes out on the bridge!
