I think we've all learnt something. Two things, in fact.


  1. If you want to defeat an incumbent conservative party during a time of high debt and low interest rates, you need to get your policies out to the general public a bit earlier than the fortnight before the election.

  2. Don't give your preferences to Family First.



I'll admit, I'm feeling guilty. I mean, I joined the Greens, did a bit of letterboxing. But I was pretty pissweak about it all.

The worst part, though, is realizing that even I was hardcore about it, it still wouldn't have made much difference.

Noticed an odd pattern recently: I was bit underwhelemed by the recent P J Harvey and Nick Cave CDs. But I liked them a whole lot more when I listened to them as background music, rather than focussing my whole attention on them.

Not sure if this is a flaw in the albums, or in me.

And in other music news, The Faint song "Birth" off their new album has invaded my brain, and kicked everything else out. Damn fine song.
