Took a walk through Parkville at lunchtime. Fallen leaves everywhere. Blue cold sky. And just the most amazing old houses.
Particularly impressive was the old Italinate-style victorian mansion. Ten rooms on a corner block, including servant quarters and a lookout tower. I desperately want a lookout tower.
And walking back I passed a ginger tomcat perched on a high brick wall. It looked old and mean and scowling. But as I walked past, it gave a pleading mewl and trotted up to be patted. So I spent a happy five minues petting the creature, and it still wanted more when I headed off.
