Our pay raise has come through at work. After tax, I'll be getting about $40 per week extra. Which could very easily be sucked down the big black hole of everyday living expenses. The trick is to siphon it off to a savings account where it can smugly accumulate.

We also got back pay. And I was reimbursed for the expenses (airfare, accomodation) for that Perth conference I went to a few weeks ago.

Huzzah! I'm rich!

Except, not really. There are some Hideous Bills sloching slowly towards us, like the rough beast from Yeat's Second Coming.
