Started weight training yesterday. Almost died by the end of it. Still, everybody's got to start somewhere.
My fitness goals are:
The program, for gym nerds:
This program is all about the supersets. Exercises come in pairs. You do a set of the first exercise, immediately do a set of the second, then have your between-set rest.
Dumbbell bench press - 8-10 x 3
Dumbbell Row - 8-10 x 3
Dumbell Shoulder Press - 8-10 x 3
Dumbbell Rear Delts - 8-10 x 3
Narrow Inverse Row - max x 3
Narrow Pushups - max x 3
Barbell Squats - 8-10 x 3
Overhead Lunges - 10-12 x 3
Fitball Hold (plank) - max x 3
My fitness goals are:
- Get in shape for the Ningaloo dive trip (Fit divers are better divers. They also look nicer in wesuits.)
- Return to karate (I stopped last year after I kept getting injured. I'm hoping some proper muscle will prevent that.)

Date: 2010-02-11 10:51 pm (UTC)I'm not too bad today. A little stiff, but certainly not immobile.
It probably helps that I'd been running and swimming for a few months before starting this regime. Also, it seems like anything that promotes blood circulation reduces DOMS - stretching, massage, light exercise, cold baths.
