Busy Weekend

FRIDAY
Took the day off work to go to the Ron Mueck exhibition. It's fantastic. You should go.
Then: B's birthday drinks at the Flying Duck. Lovely to see everyone. Sorry we didn't get to talk to everyone, but we had to run off to see...
A Place To Bury Strangers at the Corner Hotel. APTBS sound like The Cure trying to be My Bloody Valentine - loud, shoegazer noise with angular 80s basslines. They were definitely loud. But they were kind of lacking in excitement. The drab lightshow didn't help. A bit disappointing, really, because I rather like their albums.
SATURDAY
Ran the Four Bridges.
Werribee Zoo with the ever charming
kitling and
nigelw . Rhinos and cheetahs and hippos and giraffes! Also, floppy haired emo boy safari tour guide who was wonderfully excited explaining everything. I'm sure A. will be posting thousands of photos soon.
Then The Night Terrors and TTT (formerly Tic Toc Tokyo) at the Curtin Hotel.
SUNDAY
Slept in. Played a lot of guitar.
Jel and I mosied into town in the afternoon. We watched some of the Chinese New Year dragon dances, and ate a late lunch at the Lounge, listening to the sound of firecrackers going off all over town.
