RE: FLOODING IN APARTMENT BLOCK
Last night, we came home to find the hallway carpets were soaking wet, and we could hear running water from Flat 11 upstairs.
We tried knocking, but there was no answer. So we contacted the Body Corporate’s emergency number. They advised us to turn off Flat 11’s water supply at the mains (which we did), and that they would send a plumber in the morning.
The flooding was so extensive that the water was actually seeping through the concrete ceiling in our kitchen area.
I can find no visible damage in our flat. But I am not a builder. Can you please inform our landlord of this accident, so that they can send someone to inspect the property?
The flooding has also brought back the mould-smell in the kitchen area. I am trying to ventilate the flat as much as possible, and I will keep you informed of how that develops.

David Witteveen

Spoke to the tenant in Flat 11. Apparently their toilet cistern fell over. Hence the leakage.
Am somewhat relieved.
andricongirl and I had visions that someone had smashed their head, and lay drowning under running bath taps while the rest of the apartment block slept on.
